There are over 100 prep schools in just New England alone. The prep school landscape is constantly changing, and each school has a very distinct fabric. We have over 37 years of working in this space and have very close ties with many prep school coaches, as some of our staff were prep school coaches themselves.
Each school offers a very different basketball program, school culture, curriculum, and student body. We spend as much time as possible on the campuses, communicating with coaches and ultimately giving us a unique, first-hand perspective. The breadth and depth of each school’s philosophy varies immensely, and can shift year to year.
Finding the Best Fit for Your Student-Athlete
Our goal is to become intimately familiar with our clients. We must be fully aware of our clients’ basketball and academic goals, preference in learning and playing style, family’s financial perspective, and preference in school culture. To fully maximize the year(s) of prep school and align our clients with the appropriate schools, we spend countless hours speaking to coaches, watching games and practices, and examining rosters.

College Placement
Similar to prep schools, the college basketball industry is always evolving. Our advisors stay current in this rapidly changing sector due to our strong network with college coaches — we frequently visit college campuses for in-person meetings and stay in constant communication with coaches. Several of our advisors have served as long-time college basketball coaches, and many colleges have hosted Hoop Mountain events. We have first-hand knowledge and expertise in college programs, which is critical to successfully placing student-athletes.
Each college coach has a certain dichotomy on how they build their roster. Our years of experience allow Hoop Mountain Student Advisors to match up our clients with the proper college basketball programs. We work closely with women and men who coach in Divisions I, II, and III, placing hundreds of clients at all levels of college basketball.
